T-Shirt Link Tuesday 10/06/09

It’s been forever since there’s been a t-shirt link tuesday! Let’s fix that right now. T-Shirt Link Tuesday is all about giving recognition to the other great t-shirt blogs out there and the awesome things that they come across. Check these guys out!

The Big Fifth Eye (Troundup.com)

The Big Fifth Eye

Colin over at Troundup wrote about this eye-catching (oh man! cheesy pun of the day!) t-shirt from the folks at Resist Today. There’s so much weird in this shirt, you can’t look away. It’s like a train wreck….but a good train wreck. I can’t say that I know what it means or what it’s supposed to say, but that’s alright. The detail is great and the shirt is unique!

Gorilla Cop (Hide Your Arms)

>Gorilla Cop

Andy at Hide Your Arms posted this interesting tee from 57Thirtythree the other day. The one color design reminds me a little bit of Toxic from Van Rockn. The placement is unique and it reminds me of Planet of the Apes. Charlton Heston FTW!

Protect The Skin You’re In (Fat Seagull)

Protect The Skin You're In

What can I say about this…naked women on t-shirts. It’s done fairly tastefully. Well, tastefully in a not cartoon-barbie redneck-trash sort of way, anyways. Prominent celebrities and fashion icons adorn this line of tees, and all proceeds go towards cancer research. The shirt seems to only be available offline from Marc Jacobs stores for $35.

The Struggle (Coty Gonzales)

The Struggle

How cool is this tee?! I really like the powerful message of perseverance. It’s a very iconic design I think. It’s almost like our hero needs to reach the other side of the wall at any cost and without regard for what may await him.

Design By Humans: Free Shipping on 4 Shirts

Design by Humans is running a promotion currently, free shipping on order of 4 shirts or more. Here are a few that caught my eye.

And Then I Just Got Tired

And Then I Just Got Tired

This shirt reminds me a little bit of the work Pushead does for all the Metallica albums and shirts and stuff. The jacket is suede and it’s a clear 5-color design. It’s pretty sweet if you ask me, and describes my mood yesterday pretty well.

And Then I Just Got Tired is $19 from Design By Humans.

Blackbirds Attackin’ in the Dead ‘O’ Night

Blackbirds

This is a pretty striking design, I love how it’s only two colors. The print goes onto the collar and hemming, keeping it from looking like a ringer. It’s like the Beatles meeting Alfred Hitchcock. I can’t talk about this shirt without making the obvious AH allusion anyways. The female model DBH used in their newsletter looked better in this shirt than the dude you see above, of course.

Blackbirds Attackin’ in the Dead ‘O’ Night is $19 from Design by Humans.

Love Hurts at Snorg

Love Hurts

It’s a bit late for a Valentine’s Day shirt, I know, but I came across this one and couldn’t help but be amused. Cupid apparently has traded in his bow and arrow for a more modern weapon. Complete with scope, Cupid can now propel the love bug at an astounding 2200 feet per second. Beats the hell out of the old longbow, eh?

Love Hurts is available at Snorg Tees for the sale price of $13.95.

Science!

Science NuclearScience Robot

Yesterday I came across a themed shirt site, wearscience.com. The designs here are the work of Jeremy Kalgreen, who I’m sure to write about in the future. Each one of these shirts celebrates better living through science in a fun and juvenile sort of way. Some are fictional (duplication of women, anyone?) and others are quite realistic (using thermonuclear weapons to blow a lot of shit up at once). Each shirt is available in a few different color schemes, ranging from $18.49 to $25.49. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Bad Pet

Bad Pet

This is the other Design by Humans shirt that I mentioned yesterday when writing about Revelations. If you don’t mind the hint of scatology, I find it funny. The first thing I notice is the inverted sizes with the dinosaur (?) and the man. It reminded me a lot of something Storm Thorgerson would do.  Words aren’t necessary either, the stance of the master is enough to tell you he’s pissed off and scolding Clifford’s bluish cousin. Oh yeah, and by the way, there’s another man who dropped his briefcase because he was crapped on.

Bad Pet is available from Design by Humans for $19. I promise the next shirt won’t be from them ;-)
