T-Shirt Link Tuesday – 5/25/2010

Alright folks, here’s another edition of T-Shirt Link Tuesday, where I pull some of my favorite t-shirt related goodies from the last week or so. I’ve come across some real gems from some genuinely good people that I want to share with you. The t-shirt community continues to amaze me with how much comraderie and good will there is going all around, so let’s get to it!

Lady Umbrella’s 5,000 Fan Video

You might have come across Lady Umbrella before. They’ve been making waves when it comes to shirts for women and they’ve been active with social media. Well, they’ve been busy promoting their Facebook fan page, and since August they’ve been able to make it to 5,000 fans. To celebrate they’re giving away 2 free t-shirts, how cool is that? That’s not all though.

As they approached 5,000 they made a cool video for their fans to thank them for their support. That’s what’s really got me geeked, because I don’t think enough people stop and thank those that support them as often as it should happen. So if you get a minute, pop over to Lady Umbrella’s Facebook fan page and take a look at the video Rob and Elena put together.

Evolution and Atheism Tees @ Hide Your Arms

Andy put together a neat list of Atheism and evolution-based t-shirts for his blog, Hide Your Arms. While it’s a touchy subject for some people, the simple fact is that nobody can make a joke out of a serious topic like t-shirt designers. There are a ton of clever shirts there that I never would have come across, most of which are laugh-out-loud funny.

Even if evolution’s not your thing, you can tell Andy put a lot of work into making the list complete, so it’s definitely worth a gander or two. Have a sense of humor and check out the list at Hide Your Arms.

The Making of a T-Shirt at Fat Seagull

I came across an interesting post at Fat Seagull just this morning featuring a video made by Winner’s Circle of Seattle. The video follows the birth of a t-shirt, tracing the process from the first time pencil goes to paper through the purchase of the shirt in a retail store. It’s a quick video that shows you just how much work goes into each and every tee you wear.

Don’t Panic and Carry A Towel at Tcritic

Karl celebrated Towel Day by posting a neat parody of the WWII-era posters seen in England that featured the phrase “Keep Calm and Carry On.” While I’ve seen a number of parodies of those posters make the leap to a t-shirt, I thought this one was particularly fitting to honor the life and work of Douglas Adams. So pull out the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy if you’ve got it and check out this shirt featured on Tcritic.
