Drink Water

Drink Water

Here’s another shirt I came across when I found Helvetica. Like that shirt, it’s much much cheaper if you buy it in Yen. I don’t really get that. Consider this a public service announcement, though. Water is good for your health, of course and you’re doing everyone a favor reminding them to drink more of it. You’re such a good citizen.

I’m sure after all that stomping around in their Helvetica shirts, the folks at Graniph probably built up quite a sweat, and everyone knows it’s important to rehydrate. They’ve got a couple water-themed shirts, but this is the only one that was more amusing than boring.

Drink water is $28 or 2,100 yen ($19.xx) from Graniph.

Helvetica

Helvetica

I have a friend who’s a bit of a typography nut, and this is the kind of tee I think he’d appreciate. It sort of reminds me of those shirts I see that say “MONDAY” on them or another day of the week. It’s so obvious it’s funny. They put “Helvetica” on the back too, near the neck, like it’s a skateboard logo or something.

I came across these on Graniph. The have a few other shirts where their description mentions the “bold Helvetica typeface.” I think these guys have the hots for the font and probably wear this shirt themselves.

If you view the site in Japanese, this shirt is only 2,100 Yen, which is something like $19.62. If you view the site in English, it’s $28. Hmm. I’m sort of wondering where they ship from. Once you take the foreign currency transaction fee into account (that your credit card company will charge you) I’m wondering if it isn’t cheaper to buy in Yen.

Beautiful Decay: Snow White by Aya Kato

Snow White

I thought this shirt was pretty unique. Like anything at Beautiful Decay, it’s more like a work of art than a t-shirt, and the design would look as much at home on the wall as on your chest. I’m not a big fan of large colored areas like the brown hair in this design usually, just because it’s sometimes a heavier feeling shirt. I can’t attest to their printing methods, but keep that in mind if you’re considering this tee. There’s a bunch of interesting shirts in the same vein as this one, check ‘em out.

Snow White is available for $29.95 from Beautiful Decay.

Cities Shirt at Blacktooth

Cities

I’m not sure what this shirt reminds me of, but it’s got a vaguely familiar feeling to it. There are over a dozen international city names. I tried to weave a thread through them, but I couldn’t find what they would have in common. I wonder how Portland ended up in the company of Tokyo, London, NYC and Paris. More shocking than that is the presence of Detroit. At least Detroit is at the bottom of the list (where it belongs).

The Cities shirt is $26 at Blacktooth. Their site uses frames, which sucks and is very 1997, so you’ll have to click on the shirt.
