I hate captchas. Half the time you can’t read what they say; then the other half of the time you’re trying to figure out if what you’re typing is really a word. I understand the point, proving you’re a human and not a bot, but come on. With all the smart people out there working on software, on security, this is the best we can come up with? Seriously guys, this is the best way to tell a person from 472 lines of code? I’m not saying I have the answer, but I do miss the time when things like captchas weren’t necessary.
Anyways, the above rant should serve to illustrate how funny I found this shirt from Rizzo Tees. “WTF does that say?” echoes the thought process exactly! Ever notice how captchas have gotten harder and harder over the past few years? I understand they need to make captchas harder to outsmart the latest um, captcha-reading software, but dammit, they’re starting to outsmart me. This just reinforces that we are (or at least I certainly am) dumber than a computer, and that the machine/robot apocalypse is coming to assure the destruction of humankind as we know it. Or something like that, anyways.
I honestly don’t know what that says on the shirt. Windolph Gossh? Windolph, Gossln? Stupid Human? Eh, I don’t know. the “Gotcha, this is not legible” bit in the corner is brilliant too, it looks so natural I’m willing to bet some people will miss it when they see you wearing this shirt. You know, probably the same people that can’t solve captchas.
While there’s not an image of a person wearing it posted on the site yet (maybe uploading photos to Rizzo Tees requires a captcha?), Chris from Rizzo Tees tells me it’s 10″ wide and chest-centered. Perfect! This shirt is awesome and has universal appeal, since we all have to deal with this crap online everyday.

Steve at Anyfolk.com sent me this awesome tee a while back, and has been super patient with me getting the review out. Anyfolk’s got a real clever approach to self expression that I’ve just got to share with you. Any t-shirt tells you a little something about the person wearing it, but Anyfolk definitely takes this to the next level.
Every shirt at Anyfolk follows the same basic framework, which is best illustrated with this image from their site.
You pick something that interests you, or something that describes who you are or what’s important to you, and you’ll get a tee that fits you perfectly (pun intended). The “O” in Folk is always a picture describing the variable word on the shirt. Though all the shirts are pre-designed, it really felt like a semi-custom experience picking out a tee.
I picked Irish Folk for a few reasons. First, Anyfolk’s website compells you to pick out something that really describes who you are, and I had a lot of fun trying to figure out what best described who I was was. It was an exercise in introspection to decide between Irish Folk and Guitar Folk. St. Patrick’s Day was on the way, and I really wanted a unique shirt, so that sort of pushed me over the edge. On top of that, the clover was really close to an “O” shape, which would make sure people understood the tee.
A small anyfolk.com logo is neatly and quietly centered on the back. While I’m not usually a fan of that sort of thing, I think the anyfolk idea is so cool I want to make sure people know where I got the tee. Hopefully someone will see it and discover they can pick out anything they’d like.
They don’t do custom phrases, but I can understand why. The logistics of managing user-uploaded images and whatnot could really cut into the quality, which I should mention is top-notch. If you don’t see something you like, I’m sure you could email them with your suggestions. They’re adding new tees all the time and you’re bound to find something you like.

I’m not sure if this is the ultimate witty t-shirt slogan, or the ultimate statement against witty t-shirt slogans. It is what it is though. When you see “My other car is a Porsche” on the back of a Cavalier you’d be tempted to think the guy’s a jerk, but thankfully that sentiment doesn’t seem to carry into the t-shirt universe. I’m tempted to get this shirt just to wear on those apathetic days when I really don’t feel like putting the effort in.
