Toxic at VanRockn

toxic 2toxic 1

This sweet tee from VanRockn is one of the more impressive single-color prints I’ve seen in a while. The off-center print is a pretty neat design choice, and was the first think to catch my eye. Upon closer examination you see the man is wearing a gasmask but it’s a vague enough image that you can’t discern too much more than that.

I think it’s pretty cool how VanRockn can evoke so much mood with just a single color print and selective use of shadow. The t-shirt is available in army green, brown, and light yellow. It’s also a snug “vintage fit” so be sure to check out their size chart before ordering. Hats off to VanRockn for another cool design.

You can get Toxic from VanRockn Apparel for $18.

Drink Water

Drink Water

Here’s another shirt I came across when I found Helvetica. Like that shirt, it’s much much cheaper if you buy it in Yen. I don’t really get that. Consider this a public service announcement, though. Water is good for your health, of course and you’re doing everyone a favor reminding them to drink more of it. You’re such a good citizen.

I’m sure after all that stomping around in their Helvetica shirts, the folks at Graniph probably built up quite a sweat, and everyone knows it’s important to rehydrate. They’ve got a couple water-themed shirts, but this is the only one that was more amusing than boring.

Drink water is $28 or 2,100 yen ($19.xx) from Graniph.

Bears Are Dangerous

Bears Are Dangerous

Here’s another from the funny file. The retro style really stands out to me, and makes it feel like the image came from an old campers guidebook or something. If you pride yourself on being captain obvious, you’re sure to feel at home wearing this. I liked the description as well: “Do not feed the bears. Unless you are a mother bear. In which case, please feed and nurture them.”

Bears Are Dangerous

Consider yourself proud to be doing your fellow humans a favor, delivering this public service announcement.

Bears Are Dangerous is $20 and is available from Busted Tees.

Revelations

Revelations

After writing about Controlled Chaos I kept looking through the Design by Humans site and found a couple more shirts that caught my eye. I’ll post one today, and another tomorrow. The first is Revelations. Anyone who’s seen the way things are hung on my living room wall can tell you I’ve got a soft spot for symmetry. This is certainly a shirt I’d like for myself. The single print color helps to tone down a busy and detailed design.

It’s busy in a good way though. I like detail, and rather than mutiple elements competing for your attention, it’s instead one grand element with many places for your eye to go. It’s like artwork for your chest, really. When looking at anything like this, it really takes moment for your eye to move around and take it all in. Every time you see it, you may take something else away from it, and that’s something pretty remarkable for a tshirt.

Revelations is available from Design by Humans for $19.
